Montgomery County VINE Coverage
The Tennessee Department of Correction Victim Services page is the official doorway into Tennessee VINELink. Pick Tennessee. Enter a name or TDOC number, then open the record and click “GET NOTIFIED.” Tennessee rolled out its TDOC VINE service in 2021. State materials note that many county jails take part. Montgomery County, though, posts no static enrollment page of its own. Try the live tool instead of guessing at local coverage. A missing result has several explanations. The person may be released or transferred. Another county may hold them. The booking may be too recent for the data flow. MCSO can sort it out at 931-648-0611. VINELink works alongside the county roster and court record, never in place of them. The official Tennessee victim-services page lays out the whole route.

Until Montgomery County publishes its own VINE screen, the state page is the authoritative starting point.
Check a Montgomery Arrest on VINELink
Type exact identifiers into the search. Never pick a record from a name alone. The statewide system blends county and TDOC records, and two arrested people can share one name, so keep any known identifier handy for matching.
- Open VINELink with Tennessee selected.
- Choose the available offender or custody search.
- Enter the name or TDOC number requested by the form.
- Compare multiple matches using the details supplied.
- Open the correct record and review its custody source.
- Call MCSO if a county result is absent or unclear.
For the booking record itself, the Montgomery County recent arrests hub is the right stop. VINELink will not certify a charge, settle a case, or hand out a mugshot.
VINE Arrest Status Fields
Fields vary by participating record. The live result always controls. A status can shift after release or transfer, and notices go out only once the source agency posts fresh data.
| Possible item | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | A match field that still requires identity checks. |
| Custody status | The status supplied by the participating agency. |
| Facility or agency | The reported custodian, which can change. |
| Offender or TDOC number | An identifier useful for separating similar names. |
| Notification control | The route for alerts where the record allows them. |
A county booking and a state felony record stay separate. So does a court event. TDOC FOIL may show state custody or supervision facts. Those facts may have nothing to do with a fresh county arrest. Only the Circuit Court docket records how a case ends. The Tennessee VINELink search appears here with no real person's result.

The screen begins the live check but does not guarantee every county arrest participates.
Register for Montgomery Custody Alerts
Open the right record and press “GET NOTIFIED,” then follow the prompts. Tennessee offers text, email, TTY, and automated phone delivery. Expect a contact confirmation or a PIN along the way. A Tennessee Sheriffs Association document describes a four-digit PIN for phone alerts. Trust the live prompt over any guide, since custody and court workflows differ.
- Select the notification control on the correct record.
- Choose an offered delivery method.
- Enter the requested contact address or number.
- Create or save any PIN and confirmation information.
- Complete verification and retain registration details.
- Update the registration when contact information changes.
Prefer a human voice? VINELink keeps a live operator at 888-868-4631 at all hours. The operator handles system questions. For immediate local custody confirmation, call the county jail. The VINELink alert interface can shift its workflow while keeping the same visible address.

Follow the current on-screen instructions rather than relying on an old registration description.
Limits of a VINE Arrest Check
VINELink is not a nationwide booking locator. Federal prison custody lives in the BOP Inmate Locator. Immigration custody lives in the ICE locator. A federal pretrial detainee may not surface in BOP yet. A blank result can also mean another county holds the person, a release already happened, the record lagged, or local custody simply never feeds VINE.
Fresh Montgomery bookings can lag the most. Start with the Montgomery County same-day arrest route, then the roster and inmate division. Later state felony custody belongs in TDOC FOIL. The legal outcome belongs in Circuit Court. Each source covers a gap the others leave open.
An alert reports custody, nothing more. It is never a court's finding, so treat it as one data point among the official sources.
MoCoInfo and VINE Alerts
Montgomery County's MoCoInfo app delivers government and sheriff information, department links, alerts, and push notices. County materials also tout court-docket information. Traffic maps, news, and tip submission appear there too. No official description promises a full booking list or mugshot feature. A push notice may flag a road closure or general news rather than an arrest.
Give each tool its own job. MoCoInfo handles local alerts and county navigation. VINELink handles custody notices for a participating person. The MCSO roster and phone line handle current county confirmation. Keep those roles straight. That stops a general county alert from being read as a booking record.
When Montgomery Custody Changes
One arrest can pass through many hands. A person booked into the Montgomery County jail may bond out, get transferred, or face a court order before the case closes. Custody keeps shifting. A felony sentence later on can hand that person to the Tennessee Department of Correction, and FOIL then becomes the better tool for a state lookup. VINE notices track a participating record through some of that movement. They never substitute for confirmation from the agency itself.
Update your registration details whenever they change. Relying on a single delivery method is risky for urgent safety planning, since phone numbers go stale, email lands in spam folders, and automated data lags behind reality. The 24-hour operator handles VINE questions. MCSO answers local custody ones. Circuit Court handles case status. When a notice clashes with a live agency record, ask that agency to explain the gap.
A release alert tells you custody changed. Nothing more. It does not reveal whether a case ended or a conviction followed, and a transfer may simply mean a move to another facility. Read the notice closely. Save its timestamp. Verify before you build plans around a location.
The VINE operator and MCSO play different roles. The statewide operator helps with registration and the VINELink interface. MCSO can tell you whether a name match truly sits in Montgomery County custody. TDOC explains state felony records. BOP and ICE each run their own locators. After a transfer, route questions to the right custodian. An older source may still list the prior facility.
Have the person's full name ready, plus any official identifier. Avoid sharing sensitive details with unofficial services. When similar names crowd the results, compare only the fields the authoritative source supplies. Then call the agency. A missed alert or a blank result calls for verification, not an assumption about release or safety.
Note: Keep your VINE registration confirmation, and verify any release or transfer directly when timing affects a safety or pickup decision.
For urgent notice needs, register through the official live record. Keep the operator number close. A county phone check still matters whenever a fresh booking, transfer, or release has not yet reached the statewide service.
